When to use Text to Image

Use Text to Image when you have an idea in words but no reference file yet—concept art, ad visuals, social posts, and product ideation.

Tagline in the tool: “Turn your words into images. Describe what you want, choose a format, and generate a set you can iterate on.”

Choose a model

Both Nano Banana 2 and GPT Image 2 are available in the model picker (loaded from the live catalog when possible).

Nano Banana 2 supports the widest aspect-ratio list including cinematic ratios. GPT Image 2 adds ratios such as 2:1, 1:2, and an Auto option that lets the model infer framing.

  • Nano Banana 2 — iterate quickly on concepts and variations
  • GPT Image 2 — campaigns that need crisp detail, realism, or strict art direction

Step-by-step workflow

After sign-in, open Dashboard → Text to Image:

  • Write a prompt (up to 4,000 characters; counter shows length and soft-warns above 1,000)
  • Pick aspect ratio for your destination (feed square, story 9:16, hero 16:9, etc.)
  • Select quality: 1K, 2K, or 4K
  • Optional: open Advanced → choose Style preset or Model
  • Optional: enable “Make this generation eligible for the public gallery”
  • Confirm credits on the Generate button, then submit
  • Review results in the tool history or Creations

Write prompts that work

The UI suggests describing subject, environment, and key details. Structure prompts as: subject + setting + lighting + style + camera/framing.

Avoid contradictory style words (e.g., “minimalist” and “heavily ornate” together). One clear direction beats ten vague adjectives.

  • Subject: “matte black wireless earbuds on marble slab”
  • Lighting: “soft window light, subtle shadow”
  • Style: “commercial product photography, shallow depth of field”
  • Iterate: change one clause per retry instead of rewriting everything

Aspect ratio, quality, and credits

Higher quality (2K, 4K) can improve fine detail but may cost more credits—always read the Generate button before submitting.

Style presets (Illustration, photography, watercolor, cyberpunk, etc.) bias the model without repeating long style paragraphs in your prompt.
